Letter of week and site word

Last week the letter of the week was the letter Pp and site word see.  We learned about syllables.  I sent home cards and clothes pins in a zip lock bag.  At the bottom of the cards were numbers.  We said each word, clapped and counted the syllables.  The clothes pins are used to mark the correct number of syllables in each word.   We also played a number game using the pictures of the laminated pigs.  These will help with recognition of numbers 1-20.  I sent home bottle caps with numbers written on them and also pumpkin counters.  They can use it as a matching game or you can draw the numbers
from a pile and they use the
pumpkin markers to place on that number.
Have fun with your child!

We have currently learned the site words a, the & see.  As we continue the kiddos will start reading small sentences.
This is exciting!  This week I will be sending home a letter M book.  It will help your child
if they can read this book each evening.

This week doing the letter Mm and the site word I.  Some of the words we are learning this week are moose, monkey, moon, marbles, milk, mittens and motorcycle.   It is exciting when the kids start recognizing letter sounds to different words around them.  It shows me that they are learning. We are going to McDonalds tomorrow and they recognized that McDonalds starts with the letter M.
Mickey Mouse clubhouse is on and Bergen noticed
Mickey starts with M.  I love it!
